The International Product Finance team (currently 5 members) provides financial oversight, reporting and control to the Discretionary, UK Onshore Advisory, Treasury, Cash Management, and Securities Based Lending product teams within this leading global investment bank.

Key responsibilities for this Product Control role include daily weekly monthly and quarterly reporting on core products such as deposits, loans, spot and forward FX, IRS, DCD's and other Structured Products. This Product Control role requires extensive liaison with the wider business.

Specifically the duties of the Product Controller are:

* Preparation of legal accounts to trial balance level, with a focus on and ownership of the control processes surrounding the month end posting routines into the Bank's legal books to ensure integrity of data, investigation and resolution of any problems or discrepancies
* Ensuring P&L and Balance Sheet integrity for the Security Based Lending and Cash Management businesses
* Preparation of daily FX controls and P&L reporting; communicating results with the FX Dealers and Finance.
* Oversee the daily automated FA Productions Credit (PC) process and facilitate Manual PC payments for Structured Products, Private Investment Banking, Wealth Structuring
* A Legal Controller's meeting to discuss P&L results with supporting commentary and yield / average balance documentation is held on a monthly basis. You will be expected to liaise closely with the business to ensure the commentary is focused, relevant and concise
* Work with Business Management to ensure processes are continuously strengthened and enhanced
* Incorporate additional Business Management Reporting responsibilities which include the presentation of the results to Business managers and the responsibility for the development of related reports

The successful candidate for the product controller role will be intellectually curious about the business and committed to developing their career in banking. It is likely that you will be a fully qualified accountant and will ideally have had some prior exposure to accounting for and controlling financial products - however a willingness to learn is of most importance.

Essential skills required to successfully carry out the duties of this role are:

* First time passes. Awareness of operational risks and focus on good controls, desire to progress technically (US and UK GAAP)
* Strong Access and Excel skills
* Strong commercial awareness
* Common sense, practical, highly numerate, understands basic financial concepts and modelling
