A start up Asset Management and Advisory firm are seeking a portfolio manager, with experience of managing and developing teams to take responsibility for leading the Discretionary Portfolio Management team.

You will be responsible for managing the discretionary portfolio teams adherence to the departments policies and processes. This is a client role where you will build customised investments to the companies clients and sure that you continually provide clients with accurate and timely information on the companies products and services.

Responsibilities:
Develop the discretionary portfolio management teams strategies, business plans and budgets in line with the strategy set at board level. Ensure that departmental policies and procedures are in line with all regulatory requirements.
Support a broad range of client types including HNW, corporate and institutional clients by providing a broad suite of investment opportunities to them including SPV's, money market and hedge portfolio's.
Ensure that all documentation and mandates are in place prior to commencing the management of client assets.
Play an active role in managing the relationship of HNW and UHNW clients, meeting with clients to profile their risk Vs return requirements.
Take responsibility for the structuring and ongoing management of client portfolio's, ensuring adherence to the client mandate and performance of portfolio's is a at the required level.
Ensure effective controls are in place to mitigate operational risks.
Continually analyse industry, business and regulatory developments and in conjunction with other members of the management team ensure risk and compliance standards are robust and meet with regulatory standards.
Provide leadership and direction to the Discretionary portfolio team and take responsibility for managing departmental workflows.
Ensure all team members adhere to the company's policies and procedures.
Take responsibility for all managerial duties including, recruitment, appraisals, objective setting for the Discretionary Portfolio Management team.

Applicants should ideally be degree qualified with a professional qualification such as the CFA. You should have proven management experience and have operated at a senior level within a real estate asset management firm where you made a significant contribution to the strategic development and direction. Candidates should ideally have a minimum of 8 years experience of asset management. You should have exposure to a range of asset classes with a significant experience within the real estate sector. You will possess strong leadership and management skills as well as demonstrable experience of effectively managing client relationships. The ability to engage with individuals at all levels both internally and externally is a pre-requisite.
