A large European Investment bank has a vacancy for a qualified Project Manager with previous experience working on a Sophis implementation project. The bank are nearing the start of Phase 2 of the implementation, and therefore require a Project lead from an Investment Banking background who knows front to back processes, with particular emphasis at this stage of project, on the risk management and product control of the Securities Finance and Equity Markets activities. These business streams span Equity Linked Swaps, Contracts for Difference, Equity Lending and Repo, Equity Options and in the near future plans to expand the product range. The position will be primarily responsible project managing and assisting with the implementation as various business initiatives extend to business remodelling and system implementation. Duties of the position will include assisting in the implementation of enhanced risk management controls and reporting, Daily Market Risk management reporting, assisting in the implementation of appropriate back testing and hypothetical P&L reporting. Additionally, you will be developing and maintaining and ongoing training manual, overseeing the monthly balance sheet reconciliation and trial balance substantiation whilst ensuring adequate controls are in place to satisfy daily, weekly and monthly reporting requirements. As well as having the requisite middle office knowledge as outlined above, you will ideally be ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or part qualified) or other equivalent professional qualification, a seasoned sell-side delivery focused Project Manager who is a good communicator with staff at all levels, particularly with ability to challenge traders on P&L matters. You should also have strong motivation to challenge current processes and follow up on issues, a willingness to learn and understand new products and the risk implications and an ability to work with front office and understand new strategies. Previous Product Control or Risk experience would be advantageous, as would Good Excel skills preferably VBA and macro based techniques.
