Position: Building Operations Manager - Edinburgh
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 + Bens

Joslin Rowe's client, has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Operations Manager to join a leading financial organisation based in Edinburgh.

Working together with 2 existing Building Ops Managers to lead a multi disciplinary team, this role will be responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of the Head Office Estate property portfolio (which exceeds 100,000 sq m) - therefore applicants must have a proven track record in a similar technical environment (ideally focussing on electrics), together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Main duties will include, but not limited to:
-Contribute to planning and delivering a comprehensive maintenance programme covering planned
and reactive tasks and also a capital replacement programme of -E Services and also building
fabric
-To ensure that the Estate premises occupied are maintained to a standard that matches the
Company's aspirations
-Establish and develop effective working relationships with Business Partners to establish internal
affinities and business requirements
-Work with Supplier Management to procure and manage contracts with external suppliers to ensure
best value for the organisation
-Contribute to planning, co-ordination and implementation of moves and changes programme to
ensure successful implementation of the strategic accommodation plan
-Contribute to divisional budgetary planning and monitor/control delegated estate budget
-Manage and deliver small and medium sized projects up to £250,000
-Ensure compliance with all statutory building and H & S legislation through effective monitoring and
inspection procedures
-Collaborate with the Energy Manager to proactively develop innovative, strategic and operational
initiatives to consistently reduce both electrical and gas consumption across our entire property
portfolio whilst improving our environmental credentials

Essential Skill requirements:
-Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering discipline together with extensive relevant
experience & member of an engineering body (note the main focus must be electrical)
-Experience of leading and empower a multi-disciplinary team of technical staff
-Ability to operate over multiple sites
-Large Corporate Data Centre/Exchange Centre experience is required
