This Leading Investment Bank base din the City seeks an experienced Credit Derivatives Product Controller

Purpose:

To perform the daily and monthly Business Unit Control function located in London. This role is within structured credit derivatives and encompasses a wide range of prosducts - Cash CDO's , CPPI and CPDO's. To ensure that trades are booked and valued correctly within the relevant front office and downstream systems for reporting purposes

Key Responsibilities:

*Production of the daily P&L and performance of ad-hoc roles surrounding the process
*Frequent and effective liaison with trading desk, risk, operations and all other areas of the business
*Daily P&L attribution explanation and commentary
*Review of new trades ensuring that the trade details and booking agree and that any risks have been identified and communicated to the relevant department
*Daily review of portfolio nostro reconciliation liaising with the operations department to ensure all breaks are cleared on a timely basis
*Full monthly reconciliation between reported P&L and general ledger.
*Good understanding of the components of the balance sheet ensuring that all accounts are reconciled and substantiated.
*Active participation in systems enhancements for the global derivatives desks.
Required Skills and Experience:

Qualification Requirements
*Full or part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or Technical Expertise and Experience
*Strong academic background
*Potentially have passed some product orientated exams such as SIB or SFA exams
Accounting skills/knowledge
*Confident in double entry accounting associated with products under their control
*Awareness of Global Policies that impact the area that they control
Systems skills
*Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access to Intermediate level
*SAP R/3 and SAP Business Warehouse preferable

Personal Skills
*Ability to work to tight daily and monthly deadlines
*Confident communicator with the ability to liaise and interact effectively with other departments such as Risk Management, Risk Control, Operations and Front Office
*Highly driven and motivated individual who challenges existing processes with a view to improvement.
*Ability to clearly communicate in both verbal and written form
*Good team player
