This Leading Global Asset Management Company seeks a qualified Financial Accountant.
The role will report to the European Financial Controller and will require a strong technical accountant with the experience and presentational skills to take control and develop reporting around the regulatory, statutory and management account reporting of our new German Legal Entities together with reporting for our regulated insurance company
The continued development, standardisation and improvement of reporting will be a key objective while continuing to enhance and improve the ledger control environment. A major objective will be to transition the FSA return for the Insurance business back into finance and ensure we maintain and develop close links both with the reporting actuaries and senior management in the business.
The finance department is in a period of transition with a number of senior positions being recently filled, this will give the incumbent the opportunity to help shape the controls, processes and quality/timeliness of reporting across the Financial Control section and have major input into other areas within Finance. Working with the Assistant European Financial Controller and the European Financial Controller plus other senior managers within the Finance Team, we will look to implement best practice wherever possible.
The management responsibility extends to both direct and indirect control of staff. The incumbent will join the senior management reporting team of the European Chief Finance Officer and as such offers a unique opportunity to be at the fore front of influencing and developing the finance function as a whole.

Statutory, Management and Regulatory Reporting
This role has overall responsibility for the compliance and delivery on a timely basis of high quality reports for statutory, regulatory and management accounting stakeholders.
This includes:
Ensuring that German entity and statutory, regulatory and financial reporting requirements are met with timely delivery to all externally and internal stakeholders; Transition of the Regulatory Reporting from the funds area back to the finance department and ensure that we can meet the tight reporting deadlines imposed by the FSA.
Ensuring tight month end timelines met and that the integrity of the responsible companies' balance sheets stand up to required standards; Managing and directing the companies' external relationships with Auditors and third party service providers along with internal relationships e.g. Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk, etc; Keep abreast of developments in the accounting (IFRS) and regulatory reporting arena; Production of German Statutory and management reporting together with associated regulatory reporting.
Liaise with German auditors to ensure that necessary adjustments between IFRS and German GAAP can be identified and built into our reporting requirements.
Projects leadership and delivery
Look for opportunities to understand the needs and requirements of the business and work with the European Financial Controller as well as other key members of the Senior Management team to develop a 'value added' reporting ethos that works in partnership with the business to provide true market and business insight on a timely, cost effective manner.
Interact on a more generalised nature in projects across the Department in order to ensure timely delivery and resource allocation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience within financial services and familiarity for the GAAP and regulatory framework that BGI operates within.
Extensive post qualification experience required.
Exposure to Statutory and Regulatory Insurance company accounting would be viewed favourably Although not a pre-requisite an understanding of German GAAP would be advantageous although not essential.
