A leading global rating agency based in the City are looking for a HR Officer (maternity cover) to join them for 6 months with a possibility to be extended
The HR Officer will be dealing with all basic queries related to ER, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, attend disciplinary hearings in a note-taking capacity, advise on maternity / paternity / parental rights in the UK and instigate all leave and payroll actions attributed to both, work with functional specialist to ensure all aspects of risk and control are maintained, updated and advertised where necessary, taking relevant payroll actions relating to joiners, leavers, maternity, paternity, unpaid leave, transfers, contractual changes, bonus' and other various aspects, understanding and basic manipulation of the HR database, production of reports from this system and identify trends, collection of performance management reviews, assist in the delivery of performance management materials, training sessions and advice to staff, manage the employee sickness/absence process including looking at trends and reasons of absence and reporting to the relevant Business Partner, conduct return to work interviews, typing leavers' documentation, arranging exit interviews, informing internal resources of departure, closure and archive of personnel file.
The HR Officer will also liaise heavily with the HR Administrator who will act as back-up to these aspects and covers an allocated proportion of leavers and exit interviews, assist the HR BP Specialist with all aspects of International Mobility including all work permit applications, manage the tracking of business visitors to the UK, to draft visa letters and to track assignee invoices, and arrange for accommodation, typing of other documentation which may include up-dating policies and procedures, the Company handbook, you may assist in the design and delivery of training sessions as required, assist in various items of project work likely to cover the entire spectrum of Human Resources, including Compensation and Benefits, Learning & Development, Employment Relations etc and liaise with the Recruitment and HR Administrators to ensure all administration is complete for new employee (including pre-employment screening) and to rotate presentation to the weekly new starter inductions.
The HR Officer will need to be adaptable with regard to their duties since this is an evolving department and their role may also evolve. You will be actively encouraged to contribute ideas to assist in the smooth running of the department and have experience of the above HR issues gained within a busy HR department - with a track record of handling employee relations.
