• VP Accounting Policy Specialist in Product Control, London

• City of London £75,000 - £90,000 p/a Permanent

Our client who are one of the world's leading banks, are actively seeking an Accounting Polices expert to join the Accounting Assurance Team based in their London office.


The Role:
This specialised team that currently consisting of 3 people (1 Director and 2 AVP's), forms part of a wider risk and consolidation team of 50 within Product Control. The Product Control Accounting Assurance Team (PC AAT) is responsible for accounting issues that arise within Product Control globally and includes the following functions:

Providing guidance, problem solving and issue resolution services whilst supporting Product Control to implement new accounting standards.
Driving system and process changes to accommodate new standards and improve existing financial reporting.
Assisting Product Control to comply with relevant accounting standards under USGAAP & IFRS. Performing a liaison role between Product Control, Financial Control & Accounting Policy Group to ensure full understanding of all issues by all parties.


The Candidate:
You will be a qualified accountant with detailed knowledge of topical USGAAP accounting standards including FAS133, FAS157 & FAS159 (with FAS161& FAS140-3 the next major accounting standards to be adopted); you will have gained experience from working in Product Control or Financial Accounting departments. Other requirements will include excellent communication skills, the ability to influence resources not directly under your control and the ability to manage relationships with key clients, across multiple departments.
