A Market Monitoring Manager is required for a premier financial services provider based in the heart of London.

The market monitoring team is responsible for the real time supervision of trading by member firms of the exchange on all trading platforms. This is required to ensure trading is orderly and efficient, and in compliance with the firm's rules. The team is also responsible for real-time surveillance of securities' price movements, identifying potential disorder and whether the price movement should be referred to the relevant authorities.

Key responsibilities will focus upon the management of the monitoring team, including the team's workload, deliverables and personnel. The candidate will monitor trading using the firm's internal surveillance system in order to ensure member firms comply with the rules. The manager will also oversee all real-time surveillance of price movements for individual securities to determine whether there may be any regulatory issues and what further action, if any, should be taken.

Good knowledge of equity markets and the firm's rule book is required for this role. The candidate will ideally have some securities qualifications, or a desire to obtain if not already gained. Experience of managing a team successfully is highly desirable.
