A manager is sought for the synthetics middle office of one of the world's most respected investment banks. The role is based in the London Docklands.

The equity synthetics middle office acts as a trade co-ordination group for the European swaps business. The team provides front-to-back support for the trading and sales function through the trading process. The group monitors positions, ensures that the delta strategy remains intact and works closely with the traders, clients, settlements, margin and finance groups to ensure the successful execution of transactions and maintenance of key operational controls.

The successful candidate will have the day-to-day responsibility for a small group of professionals, supporting the core flows for the synthetics business. They will ensure maintenance and control of a robust control environment, to mitigate operational and business risk within the function.

The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of the equity derivative markets with particular emphasis on operational workflow. Business event management to include the application of corporate actions and dividends across single stock swaps/basket and sector swaps - end to end process/product development and finance experience would be beneficial.

This is a high profile role; applicants should have a very strong attention to detail. Applicants should feel comfortable with multi point stake holder management and should have a strong ability to multi task. They should be at ease talking to a variety of different groups in the execution process and be able to make decisions based on an assessment of risk to the firm, service quality, and control.
