A Commodities Back Office Manager is sought by the Global Investment Banking Services team of one of the most pre-eminent and respected international investment banks in the world.


The back office team for commodities supports the European commodities business across the following business lines: gas, power, coal, freight, emissions, oil, base and precious metals, softs and weather. Trading is both physical and financial. Products range from vanilla derivatives to complex options and structured and hybrid products.


The commodities back office group provides contract administration and trade position support to the European commodities business. The team is responsible for the accurate and timely drafting, reviewing and execution of confirmations between the bank and third parties and accurate reconciliation of daily trading positions.


As a successful commodities back office manager, you will be managing responsibility for a team of up to 8 team members as well as providing direct support to, and cover for, the back office department manager. This is in addition to day-to day functions, which are to check and analyse contracts and rectify any anomalies to ensure accurate controls of trading functions.


The role demands good, strong commodities experience, of which some at a supervisory/management level. Good exposure and experience in commodity related trade support functions and documentation and products is essential. The candidate will demonstrate a good understanding of processes and controls surrounding back office procedures.
