Fantastic opportunity to join this well established IFA firm as a Trainee IFA.
Key responsibilities during traineeship for the role of Trainee IFA:
Maintenance of Chief Executive's diary, to ensure smooth planning of the Chief Executive's meeting commitments to clients, staff, providers and strategic contacts, along with coordination of administrative and travel time required to complement this;
Preparation of supporting paperwork for these meetings, including agendas, factfinds, file notes and client communication. Maintaining communications to ensure participants are kept informed and disseminating relevant information;
Keeping all client files in an orderly and compliant manner;
Compose and issue documentation and correspondence (with minimal guidance) on behalf of the Chief Executive as required, including correspondence and review letters to clients and any ad hoc correspondence as required;
Receive, process, distribute and file accurately client-related correspondence and documents, to ensure company timescales are met, e.g. client queries and recording always to the client database;
Undertake research as required ensuring accurate information is provided to managers and deadlines are met;
Where required, to ensure a high quality service in relation to word processing of correspondence, the sending and receipt of e-mails (including attachments), preparation of reports, publications, presentations and including composition of correspondence for approval within general guidelines;
Liaising with the company Paraplanner to ensure completion of the Chief Executive's financial planning reports;
Liaising with the administrative support staff to ensure completion of any matters relating to the paperwork processing on behalf of clients;
Ensuring that compliance commitments are met, e.g. complaint response times, money laundering training
Occasional minute-taking at relevant meetings;
Key responsibilities on completion of traineeship for role of Trainee IFA:
Prospect / contact potential clients to ensure sales targets are met;
Ensure sufficient client information obtained and analyse information gathered;
Undertake sufficient product and market research;
Ensure suitable recommendations are made;
Ensure all supporting documentation is maintained;
Attain and maintain level of competence as required by the firm;
Maintain all standards of performance as required by the firm;
Ensure relevant CPD is maintained and recorded accurately;
Key Skills required for the role of Trainee IFA:
High level of IT skills to include Microsoft Office package;
Life & Pensions experience within a Sales Support or Sales role;
Full FPC or CFP qualifications would be advantageous;
Proven customer care skills
Proven sales skills with an ability to generate own client leads, and a desire to follow a career in sales and financial advice
To have a high level of initiative and ability to work on own with limited supervision;
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities;
To have a high standard of organisational and communication skills;
Willingness to learn;
To have empathy whilst being professional when dealing with sensitive enquiries;
An awareness of equality and diversity issues;
Undertake project work;
