A Data Protection Officer is required for international records management of a leading international investment bank. The role is based in the London Docklands.

The purpose of this position is to implement a comprehensive records management programme in the UK, EU and eventually all other geographies outside of North America. The role will ensure the consistency of policies and practices so as to minimise legal, compliance, operational and reputation risks.

Responsibilities will be to evaluate the current records management practices and develop/implement appropriate policies and procedures. You will evaluate records management vendors, tools and technological solutions and recommending practical solutions. You will also develop an internal training program.

Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability and attention to detail are all essential traits to possess. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong working knowledge of records management practices, as well as data protection legislation and best practice. Working knowledge of other EU and international regimes data protection legislation and the FSA handbook are all required.
