We are looking for a qualified accountant preferably with a mathematics or science background, and with a proven track record in writing Access databases. The candidate should be a creative thinker and proactive problem solver. Moreover, the candidate should be a quick learner and possess the ability to work effectively under pressure in a rapidly changing environment. The candidate must be a team player, willing to support the other members of the group. The role requires;
*Technical expertise in data manipulation tools, i.e. Excel and Access, to VBA level.
*A well organised and detailed oriented individual, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and show attention to detail.
*Strong academic credentials, mathematics and science backgrounds ideally coupled with Financial application.
*The ability to work effectively with all levels of management
*Interpersonal skills for working in a team based environment, and interacting with various stakeholders
*Development of a daily reconciliation tool for managing the cash premium balance sheet accounts (most likely in a form of an access database)
*Historic analysis of data through this account.
*Interaction with product control and Operations teams regarding flows and adjustments through this account, the settlement systems, and the daily P&L system.
*Interaction with Finance, Operations and Technology to resolve key areas of control weaknesses through the systems, in order to streamline the process going forward.
*Ad hoc requests for balance sheet related reporting / processing
*Ensure accuracy of revenue information
*Produce daily P/L and explanatory reports
*Preparation and analysis of month end price testing, reconciliations and reserves
*Perform ad-hoc analysis of various parts of the business
*Drive changes with operations and technology to ensure proper trade flows
*Monthend balance sheet reporting and substantiation
