HR Generalist - London, with significant global travel

35,000 to 45,000 plus bonus plus benefits - 12 month contact

This global Japanese firm provides integrated business services to partners all over the world to enhance value throughout the supply chain and do this by applying knowledge, experience and core skills in market development, finance, logistics, investments and information to solve specific business problems across a broad range of commodities and services.

A major restructure and amalgamation of global subsidiary companies into the wider Group structure has resulted in the creation of this unique and exciting role.

Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, this role involves:

Traveling to offices based in Europe, the Middle East and elsewhere globally
Conducting fact finding exercises relating to local HR structures and ways of working
Determining levels of compliance to local employment law (eg employment contracts etc)
Assessing levels of synergy with Group HR policy and procedure
Investigating and auditing local performance management, learning and development, succession planning and talent management procedures
Determining level of 'fit for purpose' and reporting to Senior HR Manager
Under Senior HR Management guidance determining and implementing an action to align local HR practices with global HR policy and procedure

To be considered for this role you must have:

The ability to travel extensively globally - up to 50-60% of the time
Significant Generalist HR experience gained within a corporate environment
Previous international HR experience or responsibility
Strong experience relating to performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, resourcing, talent management, learning and development and succession planning
An appreciation or experience of Japanese business culture
An ability to be culturally aware and adaptable to greatly differing local ways of working and living
Strong diplomatic skills and an ability to work autonomously
An open and sociable approach

This role is released as a contract initially but has the possibility of going permanent.
