A leading global investment banks Compliance Operations department (part of the Payments & Control division of Operations) is seeking a highly analytical individual with both Previous compliance (MiFID) and Operations exposure to assist on the Mifid Implementation project.

The team has oversight responsibility for reporting to key European regulators and exchanges. The position has arisen due to significant changes in the regulatory environment forced by the Market in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID). Set by the EU, MiFID the biggest challenge to the industry since the Euro.

The role will involve working on the high profile MiFID Implementation project to enhance systems and change procedures as required to be compliant with the new regulation. This is a great opportunity to gain broad market and product experience. The individual will also liaise with many other areas of the firm including the Front Office, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Operations, as well as interaction with the Regulators.

Responsibilities include:

*Preparation of periodic status reports
*Review of interpretation of regulatory commentary Work with various impacted business areas to help them to understand the new requirements
*Assist with creation of test plans and test scripts
*User system testing and implementation
*Impact analysis of Front & Middle Office enhancements
*Liaison point person for working groups
*Track and drive resolution of project issues

Proven work experience in the Financial Industry, preferably in Operations is preferred, along with project management experience. Proficient in the use of MS Excel and MS Word. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to use initiative and work with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a team Organised, inquisitive and enthusiastic.
