Product Control, London, £300 per day.
Working as a Product Controller at the London headquarters of this European investment bank you will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of the daily P&L for the bank's Emerging Markets and Japan equity flow swaps business.

The Controlling division oversees the financial performance of the bank and advises senior management on the financial state and performance of all the areas of the bank. Controlling is also involved in initiatives to help to lower costs, manage risk and improve financial performance. Additionally the Controlling division forecast financial performance and budgetary needs, deliver information to shareholders, creditors, tax authorities, regulatory authorities and auditors.

The key aspects of the role are:

-Preparation and analysis of the daily P&L
-Face off with front office, middle office and operations to resolve issues and help their understanding of P&L fluctuations
-Preparation of daily P&L commentary
-Input of daily P&L figures and commentary into various MI tools
-Preparation of daily client MI for the front office
-Dealing with ad-hoc requests regarding client balances and P&L
-Project work to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the P&L and MI

The ideal candidate for the Product Control role will:

-Be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
-Have prior experience working in the control function of a financial institution
-Understands the need for control in a banking environment
-Have knowledge of a range of financial products and markets preferably including derivatives
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills, time management and team work
-Display drive and motivation and exceptional communication and analytical skills
-Possess strong Excel skills and will ideally have exposure to SAP
