Our client is a leading global financial services firm with operations in more than 50 countries who are currently seeking a Valuation Associate to work in their London office. The Finance Valuation & Policy (FVP) is an independent group within Finance whose primary responsibility is to ensure that the valuation of the firm's risk portfolios, are fairly valued.
Reporting to the Global Head of Proprietary Positioning the key responsibilities will be:

Coverage of Proprietary Positioning including the following products: Structured Credit, Credit, Equities, Rates.
Work with the Front Office, Market Risk, Model Review Group and Finance on all valuation issues.
Assess appropriateness of benchmarks and methodologies used in parameter testing and reserve calculations for the trading portfolio
Provide technical product training and other ad-hoc quantitative assistance to line Product Controllers and other interested parties
Responsible for building and sustaining a robust control environment
Liaise with Accounting Policy to ensure proper accounting treatment of relevant products under multi-GAAP

The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level, experience in line product controlling and trading room product controlling. Able to pay attention to detail, produce clear oral and written communication skills, along with proficient in Excel, knowledge of VBA and Access.
