An assistant to the chief economist & strategist is sought by a prestigious, renowned asset management house.


Based in London, the function of this position is to assist the chief economist and strategist in all matters, but particularly to be responsible for producing macro and strategic data for the investment teams and client areas. This is a trainee position for a graduate-calibre professional who will be given an opportunity to work with an accomplished economist.


Main duties and overall responsibilities will focus upon gathering key data which forms the basis of the firm's interpretation of the business cycle and preparing reports, chart packs and presentation material.


Responsibilities will include:

- Updating sources of information

- Reports (written reports as requested)

- Preparation of chart packs for monthly and quarterly meetings used as material for internal meetings


Solid academic and professional qualifications are required for this position (for example, a CFA or equivalent qualification / or willingness to study). Previous experience of working in a financial services environment would be useful, as would experience in using major databases e.g. DATASTREAM, Bloomberg and Reuters.
