Global AML Consultant
- City of London £50,000 - £70,000 p/a Permanent
This is a varied and dynamic role which will work across the EMEA units the one of the worlds foremost investment banking institutions.
The role includes the coordination of AML Compliance projects and tasks in the
region Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The candidate is a team member based in London and provides advice and support to Local Compliance and other colleagues on an ongoing basis to manage the legal and reputational risks associated with money laundering and the financing of terrorism. The individual will be involved in aspects such as
*Assisting the implementation of global guidelines and policies and procedures defining the minimum standards applicable to all business divisions (Asset Management, Investment Banking and Private Banking) combined with regional or local policies and procedures taking into account local legislation and best Practices;
*Reviewing and assessing current local AML programs, policies and procedures on an ad-hoc and ongoing basis and assessing them applying a risk-based approach;
*Supporting the regional desk with regard to risks associated to political exposed persons;
*Assisting the regional sanctions officer in requests regarding countries being subject to external and internal restrictions;
*Continuously developing and maintaining the EMEA AML Compliance function;
*Collecting and providing management information to respective applications, colleagues and Senior Management.
The AML Compliance field covers among others measures to detect and prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism, customer due diligence, politically exposed persons, risk assessment, sanctions, and training.
Qualifications
*University degree or equivalent diploma, a certification in AML Compliance would be desirable
*Minimum of three years of Compliance experience in the financial sector, with expertise in the AML Compliance field in the banking industry would be a distinctive advantage
*Strong analytical and problem solving skills
*Focus on service and reputation
*Excellent professional manners and high social competence in communication
*Very good verbal and written skills in English and preferable other languages spoken in the region EMEA
*Interest in working in a dynamic and international working environment
*Advanced use of applications such as MS Office software
