A leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm that provides a wide range of services worldwide to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and high-net-worth individuals is seeking a market aware Commodity Operations, Middle Office Analyst.

The Middle Office team is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the risk undertaken by the Commodities business across Europe. The products trades by the Commodities desk are Oil, Gas, Power, Metals, Index Products, Coal, Pulp & Paper, Weather and Emissions. The Middle Office team is comprised of two groups - The Corporate and Hedge Fund Sales Middle Office and The Inter-bank Middle Office.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

* Daily checking of trade bookings in Risk Management system and subsequent checking back to the confirm sent in by customers.
* Daily liaison with Customers on discrepancies and assisting in redrafting of confirmations to meet their needs.
* Daily interaction with traders, sales, Legal and other operational departments to resolve discrepancies.
* Daily responsibility for verbally confirming trades for various commodity products.
* Daily preparation of the daily control report for intra day meetings to review progress on all daily tasks.
* Daily liaison with brokers to check out daily trades and resolve discrepancies.
* Writing procedures and producing metrics as requested by the team leader.
* Daily Drafting and checking of outgoing confirmations for a variety of instruments -Options, Swaps, all with commodity components.
* Setting up of new products in operations system in line with departmental standards
* Checking of trade events - exercises, expiry, resets, rolls, knockouts and any other such events.
*Checking the position effects in risk management system and Operations system.
* The successful candidate will also be involved in various strategic projects, where they will be required to be innovative with a high level of attention to detail. An example of this would be working with another derivative area to flow out a multi asset trade prior to execution.

You must have a strong understanding of derivative documentation. You will also have a proven working knowledge of the commodities market. The role gives the successful candidate the opportunity to gain experience in an extremely complex, fast paced business and to work with a wide variety of high quality people.
