Equity Settlement Analyst

This international bank with strong European roots is seeking the services of an experienced Equity settlements analyst.

Within London Operations the Securities Settlements group is responsible for despatch of all settlements related processes / issues to Securities business by means of supporting the offshore BAU processes undertaken by the business partners in Mumbai. The ultimate aim of the Securities Settlements Group in London is to ensure that all Securities settlements are processed efficiently and on time in a controlled environment thus mitigating risk whilst adhering to market principles & regulations.

Responsibilities:

* Ensures that all daily Equity Settlements activities are completed within the agreed deadlines
* Deals with Equity Settlements queries/requests in a timely manner acting as an escalation / referral point for our offshore business partners as well as other stakeholders
*Supports activities and the processing of all Equity functions.
Has a extensive knowledge of product, process, regulatory requirements and company policies.
*Assists in the delivery of systems enhancements, new markets and partner strategy.
*Assesses exceptions and deviations from the Equity Settlements processes and agrees and implements, where appropriate, any relevant new procedures.
*Provides information on the status/progress of exceptions and resulting actions to the Equity Settlements Team Leader/ Manager.
*Identifies and communicates problems and issues to the Equity Settlements Team Leader/ Manager and contributes to the solution.
*Resolves complex problems/tasks himself /herself or co-ordinates and advises staff (colleagues, management) involved in resolving them.
*Follows internal and external developments in his/her field.
*Identifies and assesses opportunities for developments and improvements.
*Co-ordinates general queries arising from management, partners, clients and operations personnel.
*Escalates issues when appropriate and ensures procedures are documented, communicated and applied.
*First point of escalation for offshore analysts providing support and advice in resolving complex issues.
*Shares knowledge with staff in London/India and provides training where required.
*Understanding of 'Know Your Client' (KYC) and CAAML key principles.
*Potential overseas travel.

Must have strong experience gained from previous Equity Settlements roles. Must also understand the following specific Equity Settlement processes cross markets: Pre and Post Settlement, Inventory Management, Corporate Actions & Dividends, Cash Management, Stock & Cash Reconciliation, Operational Risks & Controls, Securities financing, Netting, FX, DR Conversions, Reconciliation functionalities and PIP.
