• Compliance Review Monitoring & Testing Team Lead

Our client is one of the world's foremost financial institutions

Work with the Monitoring and Testing Manager to develop and implement the Corporate Monitoring and Testing Framework, including development of key risk/performance indicators, preparing templates / tools for summary reporting of monitoring and testing results, and development / implementation of testing methodology and tools.

Active participation in monitoring and testing reviews throughout the region, in conjunction with Corporate or Business Unit Risk Management and Compliance staff. Provide assistance to the Regional Monitoring and Testing Manager with oversight of assigned business units / regions for execution of the monitoring and testing program, including plan status, root cause analysis of issues identified, targeted testing efforts for critical / high risk activities, review / analysis of monitoring and testing results, and preparation of periodic reporting to summarise status of the program.

Work closely with the internal audit department to coordinate testing activities, share test results, and ensure consistent approaches to issue resolution.

Reports to: Monitoring and Testing Manager

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts and documents monitoring and testing reviews to assure compliance and adherence to regulations and internal policies. Follows established global policies, procedures and standards for Monitoring and Testing activities.
Validates and summarizes testing results in clear, concise language.
Detects and advises Monitoring and Testing management and/or Business Unit management of potential compliance or operational risk issues and recommends changes and/or enhancements to improve efficiencies in procedures.
Works to develop strong relationships with internal audit management to coordinate testing efforts and share results.
Interacts with regulators, internal and external auditors on regulatory topics.
Serves on internal and external groups to provide and receive advice on industry trends.
Conducts or participates in meetings with business unit / operations management to discuss testing results.
Assists others with less experience or knowledge of specific topics in conduction Monitoring / Testing activities, which could include providing on-the-job training for new employees and reviewing work of others, as needed.
Can work effectively as a team member and independently.
Applies analytical skills to review information and determine potential control weaknesses or exceptions to policies / processes.
Works closely with EMEA Monitoring and Testing Manager and others in Compliance / Risk Management roles to develop and execute appropriate test steps and review the results.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of risk management and strategic goals for the bank's business. In depth knowledge of operational risk, applicable laws and regulations acquired through formal education and work experience is required. Knowledge and awareness of monitoring and testing processes / procedures, including operational risk expertise. Communication and analytical skills are necessary to consult with partners/clients, and analyse information and apply regulations.
