Portfolio Control Analysis
- City of London £20 - £25 day Temporary
This Leading Global Investment Bank based in the city is seeking a Portfolio Analyst within their asset management division.
Responsibilities of the Portfolio Analyst role will involve:
*Undertaking extensive ad hoc investigation and analysis for internal
and external counterparties.
*Resolving and reconciling complex business problems while working with
counterparts in other organisations, possibly including external client
representatives.
*Responding to client inquiries and committing to deliverables, where
this is appropriate.
*Participating in projects to improve existing systems and anticipate
future requirements providing direction and requirements to IT, and
acting in partnership with IT for project deliverables.
*Proposing changes to the logic or rules underlying a system because of
changes in the business environment (e.g., regulatory changes, new
client requirements, trading on a new exchange).
*Seeking and implementing automated solutions to manual processes.
*Contributing to the development of methods to improve processes or
increase control.
*Assisting in the creation of technical training and leading training
for others.
*Providing Portfolio Managers and Traders with accurate information to
support investment activities.
*Managing available and projected cash balances to minimise unplanned
currency exposures whilst ensuring that uninvested cash has been placed
in an appropriate vehicle to maximise the return to the client.
*Problem solving capability for complex accounting, cash management,
performance and portfolio issues.
*Managing the generation, review and dissemination of periodic
(Portfolio analysis, accounting and regulatory) reports for clients as
well as internal and external counterparties.
*Providing oversight of the accounting and reconciliation functions
performed in offshore locations.
*Monitoring and manage standards, procedures and controls for managing
the various processing flows.
*Participating in departmental change events including systems
automation, functional transfers and client experience initiatives.
*Significant liaison with internal and external clients as well as
Custodians.
The ideal candidate for the Portfolio Analyst role will:
*Demonstrate the ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve most
problems that arise.
*Demonstrate the ability to apply re-engineering methodologies to
processes and execute solutions.
*Possess excellent communication skills.
