Compliance Consultant - Asset Servicing

Our client , based in the heart of London's Docklands is one of the world's foremost financial institutions
SUMMARY OF POSITION
*Assist in the day to day functioning of Asset Servicing Compliance Team, with specific responsibility for the oversight of banking services with primary focus on Prudential Regulation.
*Provision of a "consultancy" type compliance service offering pro-active advice on regulatory issues and formal training to all levels of staff.
*Regular liaison with and/or reporting to clients and their Compliance/Audit Departments.
*Undertake compliance monitoring and testing (as requested), advising line and local management of potential compliance problems and recommending procedural changes.
CORE ACTIVITIES
*Support senior members of the department in the identification, planning and execution of the Department's activities with regards to Banking.
*Detects and advises line/local management of potential compliance problems and may recommend changes and/or enhancements to improve efficiencies in procedures. Contributes to development of policies, procedures, and business practices where these relate to compliance initiatives.
*Keeping up to date with regulatory developments and have responsibility for communicating changes to the business.
*Assist in the provision of staff training on compliance related matters.
*Be familiar with FSA ARROW 2 approach and run, provide support for FSA and/or Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago examination visits.
*Review Marketing Material and Request For Proposal (RFP's).
*Management Information gathering and production.
*Submission of Regulatory Returns - FSA Fees etc.
*New Business and Product review.
*Regular communication with Relationship Managers.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Highly motivated individual who wishes to develop their skills and knowledge within a progressive compliance role.
Minimum 5 years compliance experience. Good knowledge of following FSA sourcebooks required (CASS, COBs, SYSC, BIPRU).
Knowledge/Experience of Banking, Marketing Material, RFP's and Financial Regulatory Reporting.
Desire to stay in front of new business/regulatory developments.
Educated to graduate (or equivalent) level - accounting or compliance qualification is desirable.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Good organisational and analytical skills.
Proficiency in PC software essential (Access, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
