This pre-eminent investment bank as one of the world's leading wealth management, capital markets and advisory companies, with offices in 40 countries and territories requires the services of an experienced results and standards driven Commodities Trade Support analyst.

The Commodities Back Office Group is a team of 14 people who provide contract administration and trade position support to the European Commodities Business. The team is responsible for the accurate and timely drafting, reviewing and execution of confirmations between Merrill Lynch and third parties and accurate reconciliation of daily trading positions.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be part of the team covering the activities of our Oil, Power, Gas, Emissions desk.

*Daily reconciliation of deal tickets, broker and counterparty confirmations ensuring that all information held in the Commodities trading systems is accurate.

*Daily reconciliation of Commodities trading desk positions requiring daily involvement with Front Office, Product and Financial Control.

*Ensuring the firm receives fully completed confirmations on all transactions within a given time frame.

*Production and review of confirmations (as appropriate) in compliance with all appropriate formats and contracts, working closely with Credit, Legal, Marketers, Trading Desk and Counterparties

*Ensure that all correct control procedures are adhered to and a full audit trail is recorded and maintained at all times.

*Assist in streamlining of all Back Office procedures and become actively involved with system development ranging from technical enhancements to new product release.

*Production and analysis weekly reports for Management.

*Working as part of a team to meet daily deadlines.

You will possess a strong ability to liaise with Legal, Trading Desk and Counterparties on complex issues. You will have previous experience in a similar role with another top tier investment bank as well as an excellent working knowledge of commodities , ideally Oil, Power, Gas, Emissions.

This is a prime opportunity for someone who has the relevant all-round knowledge and is hungry for success in a high pressure environment.
