• City of London £35.00 - £40.00 p/hr Temporary

·Responsible for monthly management accounting for a portfolio of approximately thirty (30) assigned entities, the majority of which will be Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV's) Typically this will require full balance sheet and P & L analytical review to be presented to and discussed with the finance manager.
·Jointly responsible (on a rotating basis) for the preparation of the Financial Services Authority regulatory returns for PML. This includes a review of those sections not prepared by the financial control team.
·Responsible for securitisation & residual accounting, and keeping abreast of technical accounting issues that impact these areas, for example FRS 25 and FRS 26.
·Liaison with the trading desk to establish start-up accounting entries for new deals particularly the start up journal entries and cash transactions reconciliation.
·General ledger reconciliations for the assigned entities, for example mortgage asset balances in general ledger versus mortgage administration system. This will encompass liaising with both the Treasury team and Mortgage Servicing teams.
·Ad hoc tasks as deemed appropriate by Finance Managers and Financial Controller.

Skills, knowledge, training required for job:

Part-Qualified ACCA/CIMA
Overall awareness of the residential mortgage market and/or experience of working in a multi-entity environment
Production of technical accounting work to a high quality and to strict timescales with an eye for detail
Problem solving skills (particularly technical accounting issues).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Intermediate Excel knowledge essential
Ability to work unsupervised
We believe that the level of experience required would be typically demonstrated by a minimum two years experience of working in the financial services sector
