Operations Specialist - Metals Trading Group
£$18.00 - £22.00 Per Hour

This world leading global financial services company, offering clients financial advice in all aspects of investment banking, private banking and asset management seek a multi talented Operations Analyst within the Metals Trading Group.

The firm launched a new Metals trading group in 2007, which trades metals, coal, freight and the GSCI Index (futures and OTC derivatives and physical on the way). The Metals Operations group is responsible for the operational support of these new OTC products.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Confirmations:

*Draft the confirmation templates for swaps, options, physical forwards, spread options for the new products.
*On a daily basis, generate the confirmations for the new trades executed for the above products *Work with Legal, Credit, and Trading to ensure that each confirmation properly confirms the deal executed and reflects correct credit terms for margining purposes.
*Review incoming confirmation from the Counterpart to ensure that the economic trade details match what we have in the firms systems.
*Discuss with Legal any non-economic clauses in the Counterparts confirmation and evaluate whether there are any issues which need to be negotiated. Chase counterparts to get all open active trades executed.
*Resolve any discrepancies with Traders.
*Report on performance metrics to senior management


Settlements:

* Validate daily pricing to ensure that correct prices have fed into CS systems.
* Phone confirm settlement dollar amounts with Counterpart Obtain payment instructions from Counterpart and enter into the in house systems.
*Resolve any discrepant dollar amounts with Counterpart and CS trader.
*Process any required dollar differences so that the correct dollar amount is paid/received Report any fails to senior management.
*Chase Counterpart for any failed dollar amounts.

You will ideally have conformations and settlements experience gained from past roles within the investment baking sector. A strong knowledge of the metals exchange would also be very beneficial.
