Looking for a new challenge? If so, our client a European Investment bank are seeking an accountant to support change via systems development and to keep abreast with technical accounting pronouncements, financial control requirements, regulatory and product development.

Our client is a leader in derivatives markets, including the equity, fixed income, foreign exchange, energy, metals, commodities and credit markets. It invests in a wide variety of debt and equity securities and also provides solutions to corporate finance, financial risk management and investment needs.

The key responsibilities for the accountant include:
-Financial accounting and management accounting
-Daily P&L and Balance Sheet substantiation and reconciliation
-Lead the monthly balance sheet and P&L reporting to Head Office
-Perform month end Balance Sheet substantiation/ reconciliation process to the General Ledger.
-Book the currency FX hedges for the London Branch
-Booking of monthly fee journals to the London Branch
-Liaise with treasury to perform a quarterly intercompany pay down of the outstanding group
balances.

The suitable candidate should be a newly qualified accountant (ACCA/ CIMA/CPA) with financial services experience. you should also understand the economics and accounting for credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, investment securities, embedded derivatives, commodity derivatives and special purpose vehicles.
