Key Responsibilities for the role of Risk Manager:

To provide risk management services to both internal and external customers. This will
involve the identification, analysis and economic control of those risks which threaten the
assets or earning capacity of the customers' business operations.
Work with Director/Account Executives/Account Handlers, in respect of the acquisition, retention and differentiation of profitable business
To provide value added consultancy services to insurance and non-insurance customers in respect of all classes of insurance coverage
Review of customers operations and provision of complementary risk management programmes/projects to further reduce exposure to loss
Stimulate, develop and enhance business relationships
To develop a risk management profit centre providing risk management consultancy services and training to non-insurance clients
Maximise technical expertise in support of the business objectives
Provide coaching and advice for staff and this should include joint visits to customer sites as appropriate
Provision of contract risk assessment services
To manage Health and Safety Management system and the Businesses Continuation Management Plan
Plan and review own performance to ensure that targets are met.


Key Skills required for the role of Risk Manager:

Risk control experience gained within an insurer or insurance broker environment.
Professional qualifications in respect of Risk Management (GradIRM/FIRM) and Health and
Safety (CMIOSH) - or significant progress towards these is required.
The ability to demonstrate a good understanding of property and casualty insurance is
considered essential.
