Portfolio Administrator - London

A portfolio administrator is required for an eminent London-based investment management house that offers a range of investment products: equity, fixed income, liquidity, and alternative investment, each of which is managed by a dedicated investment team of portfolio managers, research analysts, and traders.
The role is to work alongside two other individuals in a dynamic team of three. The team is responsible for the servicing and oversight of all reporting and fund administration activities.
The candidate should have extensive front-office experience of working alongside fund managers, relationship managers, and senior management/staff. The type of clients and products require the candidate to have a high degree of understanding in relation to equity, fixed income, and cash related products. Each of the client mandates has a varied diversity of product base, so extensive knowledge of the fund management arena is fundamental and critical to requirements.
The focus of the role will be primarily as follows:
- primary focus will be on the preparation of bespoke high specification, tailor-made monthly and quarterly client investment reports.
- various fund administration duties such as initiation of payments to clients, money market deposits and foreign exchange transactions.
- handling queries from overseas offices, and custodians.
The role offers great variety, and comprises fund manager support responsibilities along with reporting and accounting based functions. The candidate will also be required to assist with the migration of client data from the legacy to the firms system. This is a significant project and will be ongoing during 2008.
A high degree of attention to detail, problem solving skills, able to use initiative and be proactive as required for this role as well as excellent communication skills.
