Investment Compliance Analyst
- City of London £42 - £45 p/a Permanent
Our client is a new investment management company, committed to offering investors outstanding returns. Founded 8 years ago, this company has achieved success in building funds under management to £24 billion. It is a highly dynamic organisation, driven by entrepreneurial culture.
The Investment Compliance Analyst (based in West London) must be a motivated and committed individual with the ability to work in a demanding and challenging environment. The successful candidate will be a self starter with the ability to take the initiative to meet deadlines, objectives and improve processes. The individual must understand how hedge funds operate and be able to interpret hedge fund rules in order to complete outstanding hedge fund monitoring. Ongoing monitoring must be completed on a timely basis, with detailed reports produced to support testing and monitoring. The proactive individual must be comfortable to work autonomously liaising with the business to ensure that where necessary, any issues are addressed and resolved efficiently. The individual must be confident and an effective communicator as the role will entail interaction with a number of different business areas and levels of individuals within the organisation.
The individual must also have the ability to design and implement an effective hedge fund monitoring programme, covering all aspects of hedge fund management, sales, marketing and administration. The individual will be required to demonstrate excellent written skills to ensure that reports are prepared for the Board on a regular basis. Project management skills would be beneficial as the organisation is changing their OMS. As a result the individual will be responsible for interpreting and coding hedge fund restrictions on to the new system.
This individual will also have thorough understanding of OEIC, unit trusts and other collective investment schemes, detailed knowledge of regulated and unregulated fund rules and investment restrictions. An extensive compliance related background, with previous exposure reviewing and drafting investment guidelines, as well as exposure to KYC, risk management, quality assurance and general regulatory requirements and policies is essential. Exposure to derivative compliance and sanction checks would be beneficial. The ideal candidate will be qualified to at least HND level with at least two years' relevant experience.
To be successful in this role one must be highly confident liaising with all levels of the business, demonstrate an ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced challenging environment, be able to work autonomously as well as part of a larger compliance team, be flexible and demonstrate a willingness to assist with other areas of compliance monitoring, and finally, have an aptitude to quickly adapt and use internal company systems.
