3i is a FTSE 100 company and is a world leader in private equity and venture capital, with a network of offices across Europe, Asia Pacific and the US. This position will give exposure to challenging compliance work within a dynamic multi-cultural firm.

The Group Compliance department is responsible for group wide regulatory compliance and is organised into an Advisory/Training Development Team and a Monitoring/Training Delivery Team. This opportunity exists in the Monitoring / Training Delivery Team. The role will include the management of a small number of team members and will also provide the opportunity to develop into a deputy for the Director, Group Compliance and / or move into the Advisory/Training Development Team in due course.

Key responsibilities and characteristics of the role

Reporting to the Director, Group Compliance, you will help to ensure Group Compliance functions at its optimum level, particularly with respect to monitoring and training
Deliver the monitoring programme and be significantly involved in the development of the programme going forward
Deliver the compliance training programme
Provide relevant management information
Facilitate, support and be a key champion of the department to external and internal stakeholders
Lead the Monitoring/Training Delivery Team and play a mentoring role in the development of less experienced members of the team.
The role is hands-on and also brings with it the opportunity to develop technical compliance expertise in the private equity context, to work with and influence people at all levels in the business, to work on a wide range of initiatives and will involve some international travel.

Experience

Degree Qualified
Several years experience in a compliance, or audit team within a recognised financial institution. Strong monitoring and training training skills are a pre-requisite
Experience of working in an international business would be advantageous
Experience of managing direct reports would be highly desirable
Excellent presentation, communication and relationship building skills, a confident manner and a proactive and commercial approach to business are imperative.
The successful applicant must be able to confidently work autonomously with the ability to move into a team environment when required.
