How to read "The Numbers"

Key Trends

On most of our salary survey pages, you will also find detailed PDFs. At the top of each PDF bullet points explain the very latest developments in the marketplace.

Permanent Job Salaries/Temporary Job Rates

The bar graphs on the PDF detail the movement in salaries for permanent financial services jobs and/or rates for temporary financial services jobs over a year. An average salary line also appears.

Percentage pay rise expected

The circle graph shows the results of a Joslin Rowe candidate poll on the percentage salary rise workers expect at their next pay review within their different sectors.

Average increase Required to Original Offer Following a Counter Offer

This is the average percentage increase needed above the original offer salary to secure a candidate in a financial services job where a counter offer has been received. In some disciplines you can also see the typical salary rise candidates receive when moving roles.
