Compliance Monitoring Roles Rocket
The volume of monitoring and regulation jobs in the compliance recruitment world is rapidly increasing, according to the latest research from Joslin Rowe recruitment consultants. In the last month, the number of senior roles in particular has nearly doubled.
"In recent weeks, we've been sent a number of associate director roles looking for candidates either with an FSA background or experience of the SEC," explains senior consultant, Clem Cull. "What's interesting about these roles is the majority are being recruited for within the investment management arena - an area which is continuing to recruit high numbers of compliance people. "
However, Joslin Rowe data also shows that monitoring is one of the most skill short areas of compliance at the moment - with only one applicant for every 3 monitoring jobs available. "Hiring companies are acutely aware that good monitoring professionals are rarely coming to the market place so they're working hard to make their jobs as enticing as possible," states Cull. "This includes being flexible on location when there are multi-site offices. For example, some of our clients are giving the option of a central London base or a southern county office - in the hope of attracting applicants fed up with their daily commute."
Joslin Rowe also points to better than usual progression prospects with many of these senior monitoring jobs expected to lead towards Head of Department positions. Packages are also coming in at a premium with compliance salaries of up to £90,000 on offer.
It's not just permanent compliance recruitment that's booming. Michelle Myers, senior consultant on Joslin Rowe's temporary desk says: "There's an enormous demand for temporary monitoring professionals, again particularly within the investment management world. Clients are desperate for candidates with experience of Charles River or Sentinel. This combination of compliance and system skills is proving hard to source and as such is commanding high rates and fast recruitment times."
